Its tropical climate supports an abundance of plants, with forests dominating, although deforestation continually threatens wooded areas. Despite this, 40% of Panama is still wooded.

Panama is a democracy similar to the United States in which a president is both head of state and head of government with multiple parties.National elections are mandatory for all citizens 18 and older. Elections take place every 5 years for the executive and legislative branches. Since votes count proportionately to the size of the parties, presidents usually get elected without a majority.Panama currently has a 7% unemployment rate. The average income is approximately 600-700 dollars per month.

The culture of Panama is mostly derived from european art and traditions that were carried over from Spain. 75-85% pf the population identifies as Roman Catholic, while 15-25% identify as Evangelical Christian. The national sport of Panama is baseball which is a direct U.S. influence. Panamanians who have played proffessionally in the United States include Ron Carew and Mariano Rivera. Panama is a great place to visit. Its main tourist attraction is Panama City. While you're there, you should visit the panama canal, an amazing manmade wonder of the world. At the canal you can do activities such as fishing, and you can also walk along the Panama canal railway, for many beautiful views of the canal. If you want to know more about the site, you can go to the Panama interoceanic Canal Museum. After you've seen all you need to see you should go out to one of Panama City's many fine restaurants, such as La vie de Rose and LT Signatura. Then retire to your hotel room and be sure to sleep in the next morning. You should visit Reprosa, the treasures of Panama and tour the factory. It is educational and fun. You should take a walk by the bay at La Avenida Balboa. And then you're on your own.
